Week 51 2011 Pt. 2

Red Hood & the Outlaws #4

Come Fly With Me–Come Die, Just Die Away!

I’m not a big fan of Red Hood, but I have to applaud the writer on this because he has done what no one has bothered to do and that is give Red Hood some depth as a character.  I am however disgusted with the artist.  Put some damn clothes on Starfire, just because she has been drawn as a slut in the past does not mean she needs to remain as such.  As the years go buy someone manages a way to put less clothes on her.  That is the one reason I will not buy this comic.  I don’t care if the writing and story line are good, Starfire looks like a slut and you know what, I’m okay with female characters showing off skin but come on, you can be classy and sexy about it.  Look at the new costume for Zatanna for instance.  She looks hot and sexy in a strapless corset and pants.  Less clothes does not make anything more appealing, it’s a turn off.

Legion of Super-Heroes #4

Not What They Seem?

Good comic and you know what I was worried because well the previous Legion was a complete disaster.  I’m beginning to be very thankful for the reboot.  In any case this comic was full of good writing, I liked how they made the characters more humble.  I stull hate what Shadow Lass wears but I can live with it. All in all good writing, character development and good artwork.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Blue Beetle #4

Gorilla Warfare

I love Jamie.  I think that he is such a great character.  I’m also glad that this writer has kept the character of Jamie intact.  Jamie is one of those characters who can hold his own with the Justice League despite his age.  He’s a wicked cool character and reading this comic is just a lot of fun.  I absolutely love it and I can’t get enough of it.  The artwork and he writing are just brilliant.  Love this comic.

Nightwing #4

South Beach Connection

I still do not think that Barbara Gordon should be Batgirl.  But to move on form that I really liked this comic, it was very interesting and the writer does a hell of a job creating the cliffhangers at the end of the comic.  They keep me sucked in and drawn in.  I love it.  My only complaint on this comic is the fact that they turned the blue on his suite to red, being someone who has watched Batman Beyond, it takes away from the creation of Nightwing a bit.  Just my opinion though.  This comic is worth the read.

Batman #4

Face the Court

I love Batman and I think that he is the coolest character ever.  Anyway I love this comic and I love the growth in the Batman character.  I like how the writer is writing this comic, and I love the plot line as well.  It’s a good story line that goes back into the past of Bruce Wayne which is always intriguing because as always it goes back to the night his parents were murdered.  Now I have to admit even I find that overplayed but it is the reason why he became batman so it makes sense to connect everything to that moment in his life.  Anyway it’s a good comic and I’m loving every minute of it.
