Week 5 2012

Animal Man #6

Tights

Eh, this was an okay issue, felt more like filler than anything.  There really isn’t much I can say about this issue considering there wasn’t really a story to it.  Basically his son is watched a movie his dad starred in before he was Animal Man on his iPhone.  The comic is the movie by the way.  There is an improvement in the artwork however but over all, there is no story line to it.  Hence, nothing to even critique.

Red Lanterns #6

All Too Human

Good issue.  I love Bleeze and I Love Atrocitious.  Dex-starr is my favorite red lantern though.  Anyway, this was a good issue, I don’t like the newest red lantern, the human, I always thought it would be his brother so in that sense it was unexpected and a complete curve ball but all in all, he doesn’t have that much depth as a character and I only hope that he will soon.

Justice League International #6

The Signal Masters Epilogue

Guy Gardner is starting to get on my nerves with the way that he talks about Booster.  Booster is awesome.  I mean he may give off this air of being purely about himself but he’s not.  The ending though, whoa!!!  I did not see that coming.  Obviously we know that they are all right.  I mean they are heroes, even comic writers wouldn’t kill a character before issue 50…right?  Well I sure hope not.  Good writing, good story telling as well as good.

Hawk & Dove #6

One Night in Gotham

Another filler comic.  Although the writing was good I don’t know what the writers were doing in Gotham.   Was that Robin Tim Drake???  He was certainly too old to be Damien Wayne.  Way to old!  Or did the artist not know what he was doing??  So many inconsistencies in this issue.  It was simply okay, just another filler with no true purpose.  You can skip this issue.

Justice League Dark #5

In The Dark Finale: There Was a Crooked Man

Very good issue.  I liked how this story was wrapped up.  John Constantine is a jerk, but a very logical jerk, I can’t really fault his motive for doing the things he has done.  All in all though, this was a good issue.  It wrapped up properly, leaving no loose ends and it didn’t leave me confused.  The story was solid and well done.  I especially loved the artwork.  Brilliantly done artwork.
