Week 16 2012

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi #3 (of 5)

Force Storm Part 3 (of 5)

Great issue, I love the way that they introduced the lightsaber as a weapon of the dark jedi versus one of the jedi themselves.  Very interesting concept the way that this issue is going along.  I simply love it a lot, I can’t get enough of it to be quite honest with you.  I simply find it amazing.  I also love that this are the early days of the jedi, something we know very little about.  The writing is great, I also love the characters and how unique they are as a team.  Also the artwork it pretty good as well, needs some work on texture and shading in some parts but over very well done.

Batman & Robin #8

Born to Kill: Black Dawn

The moment that Bruce looks at Jason Todds Robin costume you know what he’s thinking about.  This was such a great issue, I love how Damien is trying really hard to be a better person, a person unlike Jason, a person whom his father can be proud of.  These are the beginnings of a great Azreal, I can’t wait for him to become Azreal!  Yes, I am adamant that that is going to happen, in fact, if it doesn’t happen I will be very sad.  Story wise, this is a very good issue, and the artwork is very good as well.  Beautifully structured.

Nightwing #8

Night of the Owls Prelude: Bloodlines

Ending blew my mind.  Who the heck are these guys?  I loved the back story, with those that were in charge of gotham, those names that we have become so familiar with through the bloodlines current villainy…except for Wayne of course.  It was a little distracting though, I am wondering who’s point of view it was, maybe I missed something, but I was confused.  All I knew was that Nightwing was on his way to save people, but was too late and then was hunted down himself.  Overall though the story is intriguing but I was so confused as to what was going on in the flashback memories.

Birds of Prey #8

A Far Cry

Very good issue.  I loved it.  I mean there was a lot going on here, but it was easy to follow, I love this new team, I love how they balance each other out and how none of them are 100% good.  Shades of grey!  That is a concept I love because it is so real, it brings more reality and understanding to this story line and the characters.  Missing Poison Ivy, I hope that she comes to save the day in the next issue.  So excited to see what is going to happen next.
