Ubisoft has officially announced Splinter Cell: Blacklist at Microsoft’s Xbox 360 E3 2012 press conference this morning after an earlier leak yesterday.

Not much is known about the title except that the trailer features the series’ iconic protagonist Sam Fisher infiltrating a desert war zone in an attempt to take out a terrorist organization called the “Blacklist”. Kinect functionality will be included which allows you, as Sam, to yell at enemies to distract them and command your troops to do actions such as calling an airstrike.

The “Spy vs. Mercs” competitive multiplayer has also been confirmed to be making a return. The game is set for a Spring 2013 release, although Ubisoft didn’t announce any other platforms at present time.
