horns_32836 (1)The cast for Alexandre Aja’s upcoming adaptation of Joe Hill’s Horns just got a lot bigger. While it was previously announced that Daniel Radcliffe would star in the movie, it has now been officially announced that he will be joined by the likes of Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises), Joe Anderson (Across The Universe), and Kelli Garner (The Aviator). The Social Network‘s Max Minghella is also in talks for what’s being described as a "key role in the film."

The story has been adapted by Keith Bunin (In Treatment) and is a supernatural thriller about a young man named Ig Perrish (Radcliffe) who finds himself as the key suspect for the rape and murder of his girlfriend (Temple). After a night of hard drinking, he awakens to discover that a pair of horns have begun to grow from his head and that he suddenly has the ability to get people to confess their sins and give in to impulse. He uses these new found powers to discover what really happened to his girlfriend and take revenge on the person responsible. The press release announcing the casting does not say what roles will be played by Anderson, Garner or Minghella.

The film will be Aja’s first since he made Piranha 3D in 2010. Riza Aziz, Joey McFarland and Mandalay Pictures President Cathy Schulman will serve as producers on the project with Hill and Red Granite’s Joe Gatta serving as EPs. Production is currently being planned for this fall and discussions with international buyers about foreign sales will take place in Toronto this week
