Shiloh Fernandez Joins Shailene Woodley In Gregg Araki’s White Bird

Shiloh_Fernandez_33596Though he’s spent a good chunk of his career on the small screen, starring in episodes of shows like Gossip Girl, Jericho, C.S.I. New York and United States of Tara, Shiloh Fernandez is starting to find permanent residence in the world of movies. After starring in movies like Skateland and Red Riding Hood over the past few years, the young actor has landed parts in bigger upcoming projects, such as the Evil Dead remake and Zal Batmanglij’s The East. And now he’s getting set to join the ranks of Gregg Araki’s newest fil

Deadline says that that Fernandez has landed a lead role in the new thriller, which has already lured the likes of Eva Green and Shailene Woodley. The movie is about a young woman who loses control of her life when her mother disappears. Woodley will be playing the main part, but the source doesn’t say how Fernandez will play into the story. Just like all of his other films, such as Mysterious Skin, and The Doom Generation, Araki also wrote the script. It will be his first movie since making Kaboom in 2010.

In addition to the Evil Dead remake (which you can read more about right here), and The East, Fernandez has also starred in the Aram Rappaport comedy Syrup, Mo Ogrodnik’s Deep Powder‘s , and Michele Civeta’sRegular Boy. Of that list of upcoming films only Evil Dead has a confirmed release date, and you’ll be able to see it on April 12th of next year.
