Skullgirls Adds Squigly To The Roster Soon

By: Spencer Pressly   (@torchwood4sp) While Skulgirls was trying to raise money for the charity spot in EVO 2013, MikeZ from Lab Zero Games, the developers of Skullgirls made a special announcement. Right before the auction closed, the first character DLC for the game was announced and is called Squigly. The reason that there has not been any DLC sooner to the games release, is due to the fact that the original developing team Revenge Labs collapsed. Members from the team reformed into Lab Zero []

Ben Affleck Wins Directors Guild Award, As Argo’s Best Picture Hopes Strengthen

By:  Katey Rich It’s probably time to start feeling sorry for Ben Affleck. From the moment he was left off the Oscar lineup for Best Director, Affleck has been experiencing a surge of affection– and a lot of awards to go along with it. First came the Critics Choice Award, then the Golden Globe, then the SAG Award for Best Ensemble, then the Producers Guild Award. And now comes arguably the biggest of all: the Director’s Guild. Honored by his peers at last []

Benedict Cumberbatch Could Play Heroic Code-Cracking Mathematician Alan Turing

By: Kristy Puchko Only three short years ago, Benedict Cumberbatch was a little-known British actor who had no reputation to speak of Stateside. But then came the mini-series sensation that is BBC’s Sherlock. Roles in high prestige movies likeTinker Tailor Soldier Spy and War Horse followed, as well as villainous turns in such highly anticipated action-adventures as the Hobbit trilogy andStar Trek Into Darkness. This year he has a slate of five films poised to hit theaters, including the Julian Assange biopic The Fifth Estate. Basically, Cumberbatch is everywhere. Earlier []

Resident Evil reboot possible

By:  Eddie Makuch A Resident Evil reboot is possible, according to Capcom producer Masachika Kawata. Speaking to Eurogamer, the designer was asked if Capcom would consider changing up the series formula–perhaps making it open-world–after the polarizing reception of Resident Evil 6, to which the idea of a reboot was mentioned. “If we did [go with an open-world], we would want to preserve what Resident Evil is and what makes it appealing to fans, while also making it accessible to new players. It would almost entail having a []

Week 5 2013

Aquaman #16 Throne of Atlantis: Chapter 4 I have to admit that I was a bit bothered by the fact that Cyborg called in all the other people, but the moment I saw them in action in this issue I was okay with it.  Hawkman and Firestorm were my favorite parts.  Ronnie, ever since Blackest Night has been my favorite part of Firestorm.  I think that’s what I liked most about this issue, the illusions to the Super Friends of old.  G. Sentinels Will Be A Major Part Of X-Men: Days Of Future Past

By: Sean O’Connell The closest X-Men fans came to seeing Sentinels on screen wasn’t very close at all. The towering robotic assassins were part of a Danger Room sequence in Brett Ratner’s forgettable X-Men: The Last Stand, though the only thing we really were able to see was Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) standing next to the severed head of a Sentinel after Colossus sling-shot him off screen … you know, where we couldn’t see the action. (Great choice, Mr. Ratner.) In an earlier piece, Eric picked []

PS4 can share videos, screens – Report

By: Eddie Makuch The PlayStation 4 rumor floodgates are spilling over. A new report at Edge states the PS4 controller’s rumored “Share” button will allow gamers to publish screenshots and video across the Internet. According to sources, the PS4 hardware will constantly record the most recent 15 minutes of gameplay (at no processing cost), which gamers can then edit and share. As was previously rumored, the sources also suggest the PS4’s new controller–a total redesign–will feature a rear touchpad based on the PS Vita‘s existing technology. []

Vin Diesel Isn’t Looking So Good In New Riddick Image

By:  Eric Eisenberg It’s strange to think how long fans have been waiting to see Riddick, the upcoming sequel to Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. Not only will it be the first movie in the franchise since 2004, the project actually started shooting all the way back in January of 2012. But our time without the Alpha Furyan is almost over. Universal will be releasing the movie in September of this year, which means that it will probably be a few months until we see any []

New Final Fantasy X Play Arts Kai Yuna and Tidus in the works

By:  Erren Van Duine Final Fantasy VII won’t be the only classic entry seeing new figures. Square Enix’s Hidemi Matsuzuka has revealed newly designed Yuna and Tidus from Final Fantasy X. The pair will be joining the company’s Play Arts Kai line within the new year. The current models are prototypes, but you can expect to see them and even more Square Enix merchandise at the New York Toy Fair, as well as Square Enix’s own local cafe, ARTINA.
