Evil Dead’s Jane Levy Signs On For In A Dark Place

In_A_Dark_Place_35555When she isn’t making us laugh in her starring role on ABC’s Suburgatory, Jane Levy‘s been adding to her feature credits, with a lead role in last year’s Fun Size and a part in the greatly anticipated horror Evil Dead. It looks like scary may be a recurring theme for the actor, as she has another feature lined up, which sounds pretty scary – particularly for those of us who find porcelain dolls to be especially creepy.

THR reports that Levy is set to star in Gold Circle‘s In a Dark Place, which will be directed by Bharat Nalluri (The Crow: SalvationMiss Pettigrew Lives for a Day). The thriller follows a young American woman who goes to England to serve as the governess to a porcelain doll, which is treated like a real son to the family that owns it. The governess is charged with looking after the doll while the family goes on vacation. Sounds like a pretty easy job, until she begins to wonder if the doll might be haunted and alive. And there’s the creepy part. Although, a family that thinks their doll is alive enough to require a babysitter is kind of creepy all on its own.

As mentioned, this won’t be Levy’s first horror film, but it does hint at the start of a trend for the actor. Evil Dead is due out this April, and now she’s set to star in another horror/thriller. It’s certainly a shift from comedy and drama, which has been her focus in the past, with her starring role on ABC’sSuburgatory, a recurring character in Showtime’s Shameless, and a part in the 2012 drama Nobody Walks, which was co-written by Lena Dunham.
