Lightning strikes a third time with a new Play Arts Kai version

By: Erren Van Duine It wouldn’t be Final Fantasy without accompanying merchandise, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is no exception. Joining the Play Arts Kai series will be Lightning in her Savior’s outfit – the third Lightning to be made available through Square Enix Merchandise following FFXIII and XIII-2. The figure design – as penned by Tetsuya Nomura – is still in a prototype stage, and according to Hidemi Matsuzuka has been quite difficult to develop under Nomura’s supervision. Spawn Reboot Still In The Works With Animated Series Planned To Follow

By:  Nick Venable If you remember director Mark A.Z. Dippé’s 1997 looser-than-a-goose adaptation of Todd McFarlane’s highly popular Spawn comic series, chances are it’s because of how utterly disappointing it was. Though Michael Jai White’s performance was notable enough, when you’re playing opposite Fat John Leguizamo Clown, it isn’t hard to look amazing in comparison. McFarlane has been talking about bringing Spawn’s hellacious universe back to cinema for years now, and now has rather excitedly reconfirmed this news. Speaking with MTV recently near a McFarlane Toys display []

By:  Erren Van Duine Today’s breaking news comes from Square Enix merchandise guru Hidemi Matsuzuka, who updated his Twitter feed with a single shot of what will become the next official FF Versus XIII goods. Accompanied by the single line of “Prince!” Hidemi “Mad Dog” produced a picture of a new version of fragrance with “Noctis” Eau de Toilette branding aside it. Similar to the Cloud, Sephiroth, and Lightning versions available in the past, this one will likely contain a strap themed around the []

Kathleen Kennedy Exits Jurassic Park 4 For Star Wars Episode VII

By:  Nick Venable For most people, a promotion might entail a change in uniform, a bigger office, or a company car… if you’re lucky. In taking over as President of Lucasfilms last year, Kathleen Kennedy got both the privilege and the stress of heading one the most lucrative and imaginative film franchises ever. Something we can certainly all relate to. But in taking on more responsibility, some things just have to be pushed to the side. In response to a fan on Twitter, []

Guillermo del Toro Talks The Gothic Romance Of Crimson Peak

By:  Eric Eisenberg Guillermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim isn’t going to be in theaters until July, but already we’re getting excited for the filmmaker’s next big project. Back in December it was announced that the director’s next gig would be the new haunted house flick Crimson Peak, and while it’s been said that the movie will work to break conventions of the genre while playing with both classic and modern elements, details about the story have been kept to a minimum, with del Toro playing the []

Final Fantasy X HD resurfaces running on PlayStation Vita, proper announcement due soon

By:  Erren Van Duine Final Fantasy series Producer and Square Enix VP Shinji Hashimoto took the stage during this morning’s PlayStation Vita conference out of Sony Japan. After a long silence, Final Fantasy X HD has reappeared, and it’s running on PS Vita. The game, having seen its initial announcement at Tokyo Game Show 2011, is still in development according to Hashimoto. The first look at the remaster shows off Yuna and Tidus in the town of Luca, along with Bahamut. It’s quite []

Ashley Greene Gets Spooky In First Look At Random

By:  Nick Venable Young actresses regularly reinvent their image once they hit a certain amount of fame. Sometimes it’s a visual disasterpiece like Lindsey Lohan’s I Know Who Killed Me, and occasionally it’s pure gold, as was Jodie Foster’s performance in Taxi Driver. There’s no telling what Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers will do for Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez. Ashley Greene’s upcoming role, however, probably isn’t going to be as extreme as any of those. Entertainment Weekly has the first shot of Greene in director Olly Blackburn’s horror-thriller Random, []

Final Fantasy Tactics comes to Android with enhanced visuals

By:  Erren Van Duine Final Fantasy Tactics has finally made its way onto the Android platform in Japan. Having seen its release on iOS back in 2011, this new version has been updated even further with the inclusion of enhanced graphics. The game’s interface has been completely overhauled, allowing for full customization with the ability to use multi-touch functionality. New screenshots show off a bit of a comparison between the original and enhanced – note the newly designed Ramza sprite and far more []

Tuesday Night TV (19 Feb 2013)

Not a big fan of Lemon.  Lavon has moved on and since she is with someone else, she should let him move on and be happy with whoever the heck he wants, and Annabeth is a ten times better person than Ruby and Lemon…funny, both are shades of colors and Annabeth is a plain name…I vote for her.  Zoe is the best girlfriend, her actions prove that she cares and supports Wade and wants him to live and reach for his dreams, []
