Hans Zimmer Confirms He’s Scoring Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar

image Strange as it is, Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is finally going to be released in less than two weeks, after what feels like decades of waiting. While Snyder’s take on Superman has some people in doubt, Hans Zimmer’s inspirational scoring is bound to leave audiences moved regardless of how they felt about the movie as a whole. The man has a way of elevating every project he’s involved with. Even Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides , for the most part.

The Christopher Nolan-shaped elephant in the room has been whether Zimmer would eventually reteam with his frequent collaborator – they’ve worked together on Inception and the Dark Knight trilogy – for Nolan’s upcoming giant sci-fi film Interstellar . And even though the film isn’t set to be released for another year and a half, Zimmer announced to Colliderthat he will indeed be composing the film’s score. Take a few seconds to say, “I knew it!” while you pump your fist up and down.

Though veteran composers often work with the directors throughout the film’s production, this star-studded affair is still getting set up. As such, it’s even more shocking that Zimmer also mentions that he’s already begun work on the music. “I wrote something…and I’m writing that. So, yes, we have started,” he said. Perhaps Nolan will use these early musical pieces as inspiration for his direction. It would be wild if Zimmer’s creations were as spacey as the film is. Fingers crossed that he gets a theremin involved. Interstellar willtackle the theories of Kip Thorne and will take its characters to the farthest reaches of…space and time maybe? It’s all a bit fuzzy, but it stars Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain,Michael Caine and Matthew McConaughey, and is set to open in theaters on November 7, 2014.
