I’m outraged that a so-called “Humane” Officer in North Ridgeville, Ohio, shot and killed five kittens.

North Ridgeville Mayor David Gillock should issue an immediate order halting the “euthanasia” of cats by Humane Officers—and meet with Alley Cat Allies to discuss more humane measures for feral cats, including community-supported Trap-Neuter-Return.

Humane Officers should be educating residents about how to treat animals humanely and coexist peacefully—not shooting kittens in front of children. It’s clear that North RidgevilleHumane Officers need training in how to treat animals humanely and how to humanely handle feral cats.

Please issue an immediate moratorium on “euthanasia” of cats by Humane Officers and meet with Alley Cat Allies to discuss more humane measures for feral cats, including community-supported Trap-Neuter-Return.
