Caught Up In Circles

That was certainly a ride.  I mean that was kind of a trippy issue.  The events of this issue pick up after Forever Evil #2 where they encountered Johnny Quick and Atomica who sent them back to the future.  The question is where.  What Lobdell has done here is sent them traveling through time, like Sliders.  Do any of you remember that show?  It ran for five seasons and it was really cool but yeah, I bet none of you care about that, you want to know about this issue/series.  It was good!  The pace of Teen Titans has been slowing down a bit as far as story is concerned, but the characters and the new character designs are what keep you hooked.  This issue and the narrative as well highlighted the changes these characters have undergone in the new 52.  The artwork is amazing and this issue it was just fun to read for me mainly because it reminded me of the afternoons when I would watch Sliders.  The writing was solid, it wasn’t a mess to read, easy to follow and easily to be sucked in.  This is a good series and this was a good issue to add to it.

Book One: Next of Kin

DAMIEN! I love him okay, almost as much as I love Tim Drake.  My mom loves Nightwing, but lets not get into that shall we.  But anyway, since they killed my Damien they are giving him back, even if it’s only going to be for a 4 month issue run, aka 4 issues.  And this first issue certainly did not disappoint.  Damien what, 18 in this series?  I think so.  And his father has been murdered, killed while on the job, right before his sons eyes.  Déjà vu right.  So there’s the story, except he won’t pick up the cowl, he is going to remain Robin and wreak havoc in the name of his father…who isn’t dead?  Plot twist!

Now, that little twist, I didn’t see coming, but everything else was good.  This was a good issue and a great introduction to a new mini-series.  Plus, for all us Damien Wayne fans, it’s all we’ve got.
