War of the Houses

A lot of crazy stuff went down here. The house of Secrets and the house of Mystery have taken physical form and are toying and messing with the Justice League Dark. There is so much mayhem and madness going around here as the House of Secrets wreaks havoc for the team. This issue set the premise for what’s going on in the Justice League Dark comics at the moment.

Through a powerful surge of energy, the team thrown into a vortex of magic, separating them. But it was a powerful issue that highlighted just how much Constantine really cares about Zatanna and how he continues to hide it behind his arrogance.

Over all, the characterization and the story is well written.

The Infinitus Saga | Part 1 (of 5)

It’s really good to see the Legion of Superhero’s again. Anyway, this was a very good issue that brought together the future and the present and revitalizing some of the characters from the old universe.

Overall, it was okay. Honestly, this story just sort of throws everything together, and while it’s written well, the story just doesn’t feel very cohesive at the moment, it just feels like an emotional torrent between the characters and while the premise itself is interesting, the story falls apart near the end.

This annual isn’t up to Lemire’s usual talent, which is unfortunate. The humor is there all right, but the story isn’t put together well, which is, again, unfortunate. There really isn’t much more to say on this issue, but what I can say is that the story itself seems interesting enough to continue reading the series. Besides, this is a fun ensemble.
