“When Hiccup discovers Toothless isn’t the only Night Fury, he must seek “The Hidden World”, a secret Dragon Utopia before a hired tyrant named Grimmel finds it first.” —IMDB

What a bittersweet conclusion. The Hidden World is the third and seemingly final film in the How to Train Your Dragon franchise about dragons and Vikings living in a peace. But in this film, the peace is in danger, the dragons are in danger, and Toothless is in terrible danger. It was a wonderful heartfelt story, much like the previous films, where focusing not only on the bond between Toothless and Hiccup but also the peace of they are all striving for. It’s an emotional film, filled with amazing animation to draw the audience in.

The story was written brilliantly, bringing everything together into a neat little box. It has tension, romance, humor, action, and character development. The writers just did a wonderful job building up this franchise and bringing it to a close. There is so much heart in the film, in how it develops the tension, bringing the characters together in such wonderful ways. But throughout the film, while there is so much heart there is also so much humor. Almost every scene is full of something to laugh out, it’s witty and clever but doesn’t distract the audiences from the action and heart in the film.

Honestly, it’s simply a wonderful film. The pacing, storytelling, and character development are all so amazing, rich a fulfilling, it’s sweet and sad and amazing. There’s nothing else to be said about the film other than that, because it is pretty much perfect. It’s a perfect conclusion to an excellent franchise. (★★★★ | A+)
