Submitting Books for Review

Submitting Books for Review

Getting a book reviewed is getting harder and harder. Not only do you have to find and build relationships with reviewers and media outlets, but you also have to compete with hundreds of thousands of new books being released each year by various outlets – who may already have those relationships with reviewers and book review publications. There are fewer vehicles for professional quality and honest book reviews.

I take things very seriously, and I am proud of my ability to review books in a timely fashion. I love to read, and I do this for the joy of reading and writing a review with my own words and opinions.  I am objective in my reviews and read the material thoroughly.  Each book I read gets my undivided attention and time devoted to it.

General Submission

Although I will write reviews of a novel published longer than 12 months ago, anything released within the past 12 months of its publication is preferred. If you’re a publicist or self-published author submitting a book for a possible review, please email your query to the email below for consideration. Due to the number of emails I receive, I cannot respond to all.

Preferred Genres are:

  • Fantasy
  • Science Fiction
  • Action/Adventure
  • Paranormal Fiction
  • Young Adult
  • Juvenile fantasy

  1. Hi Cynthia,

I’m reaching out to ask if you’d be interested in reading and reviewing my first book, “How to Become a Grown-Ass Woman!” It’s a kooky mix of self-help and humor for women.

I’ve included a link to my Amazon listing below. The paperback version is set to release on October 3, but the Kindle is currently available and free if you have Kindle Unlimited.

If you’re interested in receiving a free copy in exchange for a review, I’d love to hear back from you. Thanks! 🙂

    1. Hi! Thank you for reaching out. I’m currently not taking any new submissions at the moment as I’m incredibly backlogged. However, this sounds like a great book so I’ll bookmark it to check out when I have some time. Thank you for reaching out!

      1. Thank you. I am hopeful that you would be willing to add my YA Fantasy novel, The Hidden King, to your queue for review. It is a story loosely based in Celtic folklore, a favorite of mine.

Here is a short summary: ==

Áed dreams of escaping the misery of the Maze, the dismal city of his birth, but his love for his makeshift family—his partner,

Ninian, and an orphaned boy named Ronan—compels him to stay.

When a crushing tragedy forces a new beginning, Áed determines to break out of the Maze once and for all—but not before

deeply buried secrets flare up with formidable consequences.

Setting out for the legendary White City fueled by hopes of a better life, Áed discovers a beautiful world hiding unexpected

danger. Navigating a treacherous path of friendship and deception, Áed must embrace a legacy he had never imagined in

order to protect the only family he has left.

  2. Hi Cynthia, my book Disowned is now available on Amazon and Smashwords. I’d be happy to send you a copy in return for an unbiased review. 🙂 Just let me the know the format you’d prefer, and your email address if you are interested.

    1. Hi Sarah. I would prefer a paperback version if available but if it would be easier to send an ebook version I can accept that as well.

  3. You are so correct on the increasing difficulty of obtaining book reviews! Even in the last two years (when my last novel came out) the difference is stunning! I appreciate sites such as yours that strive to keep outlets like this available!
