Week 39 2013 | Part 2 | Comic Reviews

Action Comics #23.3 – Lex Luthor Up Up and Away! This issue shows everything we already know about Lex Luthor. No, this is not an origin story. Instead, this story picks up upon his release from prison and the constant thought of where Superman is because he thinks Superman is obsessed with him. He’s not wrong, let’s face it, the pair of them are as obsessed with each other as Batman is with the Joker and vice versa. So because Superman is []

By:  Eddie Makuch Batman: Arkham Origins will be the first entry in the Arkham series to feature multiplayer, according to multiple sources speaking with Kotaku. Villains in the game’s multiplayer mode reportedly include Killer Croc, Deadshot, Firefly, Black Mask, Deathstroke, and “some kind of Electroman character.” Deathstroke was previously confirmed as one of the villains in Batman: Arkham Origins. Week 16 2013

Justice League #19 War Games The new atom is a girl.  I have to say, I am impressed with that.  It was a great way to gender swap the characters.  The show of development in Jason and referencing his past demise at the hands of the Joker (please introduce yourself to that original comic – it’s awesome), was really well written.  It was small, but the dialogue on those few pages with the pair of them was good.  Then there was the []

Week 7 2013

Batman #17 Death in the Family Conclusion: The Punchline YES! ALFRED IS NOT DEAD!  I was worried there for a moment.  Now…THIS ISSUE WAS FREAKING AMAZING!  I know I’ve said this before but I love the Joker.  Snyder is an amazing writer and the way he constructed this issue was astounding.  I absolutely loved it.  The dialogue and the plot twists were so great, and I flew through the pages because I was so enthralled with the plot twists, action and dialogue []

By:  Eddie Makuch Warner Bros. has confirmed that a third entry in the Batman Arkham series will launch in 2013. As part of parent company Time Warner‘s latestearnings report last week, CFO John Martin said the company’s “strong” games release for the year includes a new entry in the series. “And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise,” Martin said. “So all in all, we expect Warners to post another []

Week 4 2013 Pt. 2

Blue Beetle #16 Bufferworld He better be okay or I am going to freak out!  Now, that aside, I am interesting how this is going to play out in the Threshold comic.  I love the Blue Beetle comic and I love how grown up Jaime is for his age.  He takes charge and is able to hold his own as well as think on his feet.  That’s one of the main reasons why I love this comic, because of the great characterization.  []

Week 4 2013 Pt. 1

Green Lantern: New Guardians #16 Love Not Rule KYLE! I LOVE YOU!  No, seriously, there is no better character than him…okay, I say that now and I may change my mind later, but really, mind blown here!  I should have seen that coming because of the lights, white light is all the colors of the spectrum, but I did not see that coming, not that end result of him literally becoming the White Lantern.  Woot woot!  Bedard is an amazing writer.  The []

Week 3 2013

Batman #16 Castle of Cards Wow.  I know, I often start comic reviews off like that, but this issue was good and the ending caught me off guard.  That ending was not something I saw coming.  I cannot lose Batman again.  After Batman R.I.P I can’t go through that again.  But what happened here was just wonderfully done.  I love how all the bad guys joined together in this farce, the fact that they each agreed to play a part for the []
