I’m always amused when Hal gets his tushie handed to him. It’s not that I don’t like Hal s a character, it’s just that he gets on my nerve every so often with his head up his tushie. That being said however, this was a very good issue.

Following the events of NEW GODS: GODHEAD #1, Highfather and the warriors from New Genesis have stolen the rings, one from each emotional spectrum, in the hopes of creating the Life Equation. However, the new gods went too far and stole the ring from Mogo and the Green Lanterns are not taking too kindly to that. Both go head to head and the Green Lanterns discover that the New Gods are a force to be reckoned with.

The Secret History of Superman and Batman | Part 1: Temptations

Well this certainly paints a very different world from the one all readers are all familiar with. In this world Jor-El was the doom of Krypton versus the scientist trying to warn everyone who wouldn’t listen about its impending doom. Not only that, but he was visited by a God of Apokolips who offered them a chance to save their son. But Jor-El saw through that. Seems as though Darkseid has always had this unhealthy obsession with Superman. That’s certainly a little disturbing and entertaining at the same time.

Week 30 2014 | Part 1 | Comic Reviews

Welcome back for another weekly installment of my comic book reviews! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far. Happy Monday! Anyway, I’m launching this week off not just in the DC realm, but also in the realm of the power rings. First up is Supergirl #33, the Red Lantern has returned to Earth with one final showdown with Worldkiller-1, and let me just say, writer Tony Bedard is amazing. Next up is Green Lantern: New Guardians #33 which continues to astound and captivate, even if the speed is starting to slow, that gritty ending and the building tension is done incredibly well.
