Week 48 2013 | Part 3 | Comic Reviews

By: Cynthia A. Red Lanterns #25 Sphere of Influence This comic series needs to stay like this.  It was good before, but now it has gotten even better.  Guy Gardner is leading the Red Lanterns and Atrocitus and Dex-Starr are searching for a way to bring Atrocitus back to power.  Dex-Starr is such a cute kitty!  Nothing bad is allowed to happen to that cute little kit-cat. Now, what else made this issue amazing, was it follows the events of Lights Out []

Week 44 2013 | Part 2 | Comic Reviews

By: Cynthia A. Teen Titans Annual #2 My Future, My Enemy Okay, so this future cannot be the future of earth 1 because as events are right now, Gar is red, no longer green, and Rose was stabbed to “death” by her own father.  So again, not sure what exactly was happening in this issue.  It felt rushed, as though the author was trying to shove as much information into these 44 pages.  It didn’t work.  This was a letdown, another let []

Week 31 2013 | Part 1 | Comic Reviews

Teen Titans #22 Dark Titans The Teen Titans have been possessed by Trigon, all except Red Robin, Beast Boy and Raven who must stand together and defeat the Teen Titans. Now, it was a good comic until the end, but even though I have issues with the ending, it was realistic. It was a fast-paced issue with the Teen Titans battling one another. Now, although my personal bias in this series is Red Robin (Tim Drake), Beast Boy was just amazing! That []

Week 21 2013 Pt. 1

Red Hood & the Outlaws #20 Confessions Well, that was certainly interesting.  It was cool how the writers dove Arsenal, a.k.a Roy Harper, and Starfire into the memories and the pain that they brought to Jason Todd, a.k.a Red Hood.  They revealed that Arsenal and Jason met once before all this and became close friends.  It was a great connection to the past, something both have been hiding from another to highlight that even within friendships there are secrets.  This was a []

Week 1 2013 Pt. 2

Teen Titans #15 Teen Scream I. LOVE. TIMOTHY DRAKE. I realize how wrong that sounds (although admit it, it’s not as disturbing as me loving Mr. J), he’s fictional, but he is awesome. And lets face it, the way Rapmund draws him makes him look so darn cute. All right, I’m gonna stop before I totally lose you. You there? Good, gad you stuck around J. This comic is amazing for two main reasons: 1. Dialogue, 2. Artwork. The dialogue just brings []

Week 43 2012 Pt. 2

Teen Titans #13 The Origin of Wonder Girl Not loving the whole artwork for this issue, specifically surrounding Wonder Girl.  It made her look to cutesy, and not tough, I mean the artist gave her soft big eyes that are a total contradiction to her character, I really wasn’t feeling it.  The dialogue on the other hand and the general writing of the comic was actually very good, I really loved it.  I was also incredibly interested in her back story and []

Week 34 2012 Pt. 2

Teen Titans #12 Armored Up & Out Ultimately, Cassie should end up with Tim. I know! I’m such a wishy-washy some times (don’t judge – I’m a chick). now that being said this is a geisha you. I really like the character development and I love kid flash. he simply an adorable character. it’s a great teen you have Kid Flash, Bunker & solstice who all balance each other out and then you have Red Robin, Superboy and Wonder Girl who equally []

Week 26 2012 Pt. 2

I, Vampire #10 Waiting For The End of The World Very good issue. I like the story here and I’m glad that a great number of Vampire’s have been killed in this issue by the Val Helsing’s. The story told here was awesome. However, I am not a big fan of the artwork. I mean I like it and I think that it suits the story in a way, but it is a little too distracting and takes away from the story. []

Week 24 2012 Pt. 1

The Defenders #7 Black Cat VS The Defenders Good issue, I really like Black Cat.  Not a whole lot of the Defenders in this comic.  Which sucked.  I mean, don’t get me wrong, the comic was good, but it was a bit boring.  I don’t know, it’s jus kind of bores me, I barely even remember the plot line as it is.  Artwork was good, better than it has been in previous issues I have to say.  Not a lot of action, []
