Now You See Me 2 starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Daniel Radcliffe & Lizzy Caplan Summit Entertainment Image Credit: IMDB
The Four Horsemen resurface and are forcibly recruited by a tech genius to pull off their most impossible heist yet.
—IMDB
Almost as good as it’s predecessor, but the film suffers from a big problem of overreaching which seems to be a big problem with Hollywood lately, just make things bigger, bring everything in, the story comes second. Same thing happened right here. The tricks are too big, too outlandish, and yes, I know that magic tricks can be as big as a plane, but for the film purposes, the story should come first, not second, to make for a more enjoyable experience. Finding Dory starring Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Hayden Rolence & Ed O’Neill Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Image Credit: IMDB
The friendly-but-forgetful blue tang fish begins a search for her long-lost parents, and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way.
—IMDB
Simply adorable. Everyone’s favorite blue tang fish is back in this sequel all about her. Finding Dory is all about Dory and where she came from and how she came to meet up with Marlin and Nemo. Going back Dory’s origins, the audience gets to see Dory as the cutest animated baby in the world. I mean let’s just give the animators here a round of applause for getting some of the smallest details correct, mirroring real fish and lighting and the like, perfectly, but also they created one of the cutest little fish in the world that completely fits with the character. Th Angry Birds Movie starring Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad & Danny McBride Columbia Pictures Image Credit: IMDB
Find out why the birds are so angry. When an island populated by happy, flightless birds is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to three unlikely outcasts – Red, Chuck and Bomb – to figure out what the pigs are up to.
—IMDB
Okay, let’s be honest here: no one expects Angry Birds to be good, after all, it’s based off a game where you throw birds into pigs because they are stealing eggs. But guess what, this movie was actually incredibly entertaining, and much like with Warcraft, the writers were able to put together a strong story and strong characters based on a mobile game that had very little of both. TMNT: Out of the Shadows starring Megan Fox, Stephen Amell & Will Arnett Paramount Pictures Image Credit: IMDB
As Shredder joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman and henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady to take over the world, the Turtles must confront an even greater nemesis: the notorious Krang.
—IMDB
The sequel to the 2014 film starring Megan Fox and the great ninja turtles, this film is more cartoonish than the previous film and submerges the film in a lot of action but not very much martial arts. Now, that is not to say that this is a bad film because it is full of tons of laughs and clever dialogue, but the biggest flaw of the film was the addition of three major villains alongside Shredder. It was just too much for the film and detracted from the storyline as a whole. Continue reading “A Little Too Cartoonish | Review of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’”
