Oz The Great and Powerful

Not a half bad movie, but it was in no respect great or powerful.  Considering the rating, it was more for children than anything else, and for those of an older age, it was campy.  The cinematography was great but, lets be honest, not good enough to be shown in 3D.  Don’t get me wrong, it was cool, and I definitely loved the aspect concerning the exploration of the Wonder of Oz, but it the movie was is not worth the price to see it in 3D.  James Franco was an adorable choice for this movie, I loved him, but Mila Kunis, eh.  As the Wicked Witch of the West, her acting was just too intense.  She presented the character in such a harsh way, over acting it a bit.  She cackled perfectly though.  My biggest issue with the movie had to be the CGI effects on Mila Kunis as the Wicked Witch of the West.  What was wrong with green make-up?  Everything about her transformation looked fake, obviously fake.  There was no tact, no subtly to it which was a great disappointment.  CGI effects didn’t work in Green Lantern, and it didn’t work here either.  2/5 ★’s and a “C-“.
