It would seem that Jennifer Lawrence and director David O. Russell got along famously on the set of Silver Linings Playbook. Not only did their collaboration lead to the actress’ second Oscar nomination in the Best Actress category, she also recently signed on to appear in Russell’s next film about the famous Abscam sting, formerly known as American Bullshit. But while that movie is still in pre-production, Lawrence and Russell are already set to go for the hat trick.
The Hollywood Reporter is now saying that the duo are set to reunite onThe Ends of the Earth, the new romantic drama set up over at The Weinstein Company. The project, which won’t be made until after the Abscam film is completed, follows a “a powerful oil tycoon who has everything stripped from him after he is caught in an affair.” Unlike most of Russell’s projects, the writer/director won’t be scripting the project himself, those duties instead falling to Oscar nominated Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio.
Said Russell in a statement about the new project, “Jennifer possesses a self-deprecating humor that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease. She is that kind of person… She is the most dedicated person I know. She is devoted to her family and they have been the true inspiration for her character and integrity. Her acting is effortless and she always makes it look easy.”
Meanwhile, the Abscam film is gearing up to start production next month in New York and Boston and features a cast that includes Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Louis C.K.
