The Hunger Games saga is not only a best-selling novel, but it has spawned films that are not only blockbusters but are also critically acclaimed as they follow one Katniss Evergreen (Jennifer Lawrence) as she fights for survival. Joining the cast is Julianne Moore taking on the role of District 13 leader, Alma Coin.
Above is Julianne Moore as Almo Coin, capturing the characters essence, severe gray-streaked hair, a solemn expression, yet eyes that reveal a well of emotions and experiences that fans of the novels will recognize. She is a character that Katniss has little trust of, creating much tension in the novel that is sure to resonate into the movie.
Here’s a look at what she had to say on taking on the role:
In the galley below, Lionsgate has released other pictures of Julianne Moore in her new role. In one of the photos, fans will see that she is accompanied by recently deceased co-star Philip Seymour Hoffman.
It’s great to see that the film will still have Philip Seymour Hoffman still in his key role as Plutarch Heavensbee. Lionsgate is still honoring his acting career by keeping him within the film rather than replacing him.
All in all, these new photos have given fans a long awaited look at The Hunger Games: Mockinjay Part 1. I’m certainly excited.
