Star Wars: The Force Awakens starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega & Adam Driver Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
It’s been thirty years since the fall of the Empire. Now the Galaxy faces a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren and the First Order. But Skywalker is missing and the allies of the Resistance, led by General Leia Organa, are beginning to flounder. And when a defector Stormtrooper named Finn crash-lands on a desert planet, he meets Rey and her droid that contains a map to find Skywalker. A new hope lies with them, their ability to survive and fight against all the odds and the location of Luke Skywalker, the last of the Jedi Knights.
Probably not a very clever title but one that suits this review, this is, after all, the first Star Wars film since Episode III: Revenge of the Sith that came out way back in 2005. Wow, I suddenly feel old.
By: Nick Venable For most people, a promotion might entail a change in uniform, a bigger office, or a company car… if you’re lucky. In taking over as President of Lucasfilms last year, Kathleen Kennedy got both the privilege and the stress of heading one the most lucrative and imaginative film franchises ever. Something we can certainly all relate to. But in taking on more responsibility, … Continue reading Kathleen Kennedy Exits Jurassic Park 4 For Star Wars Episode VII
By: Eric Eisenberg The thought of Star Wars spin-off films should be tantalizing for any fan. While it’s possible that Disney and LucasFilm could be planning movies based around already established characters – like Han Solo, Boba Fett and Yoda – there’s also a distinct possibility that they will plan something completely different. The Star Wars universe exists far beyond everything that has been featured in Episodes I through VI. So which will … Continue reading Lawrence Kasdan Says He Will Start Fresh For His Star Wars Spin-Off Movie
By: Katey Rich Even though Yoda has gone from old-school puppet to CGI-created warrior, there’s one thing about the character that has never changed over the course of six Star Wars films: Frank Oz. The man who used his voice to make Yoda’s unmistakable– not to mention creating voices for Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Cookie Monster and more– is as much a key part of the character as … Continue reading Frank Oz Would Return As Yoda If The Star Wars Spinoff Ever Happens
By: Eric Eisenberg What’s even bigger news than a new Star Wars trilogy? Even more Star Wars movies beyond that! The internet exploded yesterday with speculation and rumor yesterday when Disney CEGO Bob Iger announced that part of the studios deal with LucasFilm would result in a few standalone movies set within the universe created by George Lucas. The executive announced that writers Lawrence Kasdan … Continue reading Star Wars Stand Alone Films Aren’t A Go Yet, John Noble Up For Villain Role In Episode VII?
By: Eric Eisenberg When it was announced that Disney had purchased LucasFilm for $4.05 billion and announced that they would be making Episodes VII, VIII, and IX we all just knew that wasn’t going to be the whole story. Nobody on this planet would lay down that much money for the rights to make three movies, no matter how potentially profitable those movies could be. We’ve heard rumor after rumor … Continue reading Star Wars Stand Alone Films Confirmed To Be In The Works
By: Katey Rich We were skeptical when the news first broke yesterday, but now it’s all official. J.J. Abrams will indeed be directing the next chapter of the Star Wars adventure, with Disney announcing the news via press release this evening. Sadly there’s not any more information in there to go on– Abrams, famous for his secrecy, is sure to guarantee that the details of where the Star Warsuniverse … Continue reading J.J. Abrams Confirmed As Star Wars Director
By: Katey Rich Attempts to figure out who will direct the upcoming Star Wars Episode VIIhave largely been dead ends, with rumors falling apart and more directors taking themselves out of the running than actually expressing interest. So with Lucasfilm still playing those cards very much close to the vest, why not pursue something a bit easier to figure out: who will write it? OK, … Continue reading New Star Wars Trilogy Could Bring Back Lawrence Kasdan
