Now that Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy has officially come to an end, the big question on millions of minds is what’s next for Batman at the movies. There have, of course, been rumors that the franchise could continue in-continuity with Joseph Gordon-Levitt taking over as the head of the franchise, but with Warner Bros. also developing a Justice League movie and a potential DC Cinematic Universe to rival the work that has been done by Marvel Studios, there are other options available. And now apparently there is talk that option B could be the one that Warners will be going wit

Batman-On-Film is reporting "industry scuttlebutt" (mind you, this doesn’t seem to come directly from an inside source) that WB is planning to first release their Justice League movie and would then spin-off a solo Batman film based on that continuity. Basically, this means that who ever is selected to play the Caped Crusader in the superhero team-up movie would then go on to lead a franchise of his own. Any further details about the development are unknown, but the studio already has a Justice League script from Gangster Squad writer Will Beall and, according to recent reports, have been looking for a director (the biggest names mentioned so far have been Ben Affleck – who apparently turned the project down – and the Wachowski siblings). It has been said that Warner Bros. is looking to have a Justice League movie in theaters by summer 2015.

Gordon-Levitt recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and told the host of the show that he has no idea what the future of his involvement with Batman will be, so at this point we really know nothing.
