Man Arrested For Plotting To Open Fire At Twilight: Breaking Dawn Screening

Less than four months after James Holmes walked into a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises and ruined dozens of lives with a selfish and cowardly act, a twenty-year-old man has been arrested for planning his own theater massacre, this one in Bolivar, Missouri. Details are still fuzzy at this juncture, but authorities say Blaec Lammers recently purchased two assault rifles, more than four hundred rounds of ammunition and a ticket to a Sunday showing of Twilight: Breaking Dawn—Part 2.

Lammers was picked up on Thursday about an hour after his own mother called police to share concerns about what he might be planning. Once at the station, he reportedly explained his entire plot. According to The Springfield News-Leader, Lammers went to a firing range in a nearby town on Tuesday to familiarize himself with the recently purchased weapons. The idea was to head to the Twilight showing and open fire, but in recent days, he reportedly began questioning whether he should instead shoot people at the local Walmart in case he needed to restock his ammunition.

You can take a look at his mugshot below…

The suspect was officially charged this morning with first-degree assault, making a terroristic threat and armed criminal action. He’s currently being held at the local jail since he cannot afford to pay the $500,000 bond he needs for his freedom. Authorities are fairly certain no one else was involved in the planning of either the Walmart or the Twilight shooting, but the investigation is still ongoing. Local police would like the public to know the threat has been neutralized, and there is absolutely no cause for concern whatsoever at this hour.
