September 2026 TBR | 18 Fantasy Books, ARCs & Book Club Reads

September is here, and apparently I looked at the 10 books I read in August and decided the logical response was to put 18 books on my September TBR.

Because I have learned absolutely nothing. 😂

Realistically, though, my goal this month is 10 books. I’ve been dealing with reader fatigue, working long shifts, and generally not having as much time or energy to read. On top of that, I’ve gotten back into writing, and right now my brain would much rather put on my playlist and disappear into my own book than listen to an audiobook.

Still, September’s TBR has a little bit of everything: street-team reads, ARCs, Book of the Month picks, book club selections, books I’m reading with my kids, and several poor neglected books that have been staring accusingly at me from my nightstand for months.

So… wish me luck.

So there you have it.

18 books.

Am I going to read all 18?

Absolutely not.

And for once, I’m admitting that before the month even starts. 😂

My actual September goal is 10 books.

I’m juggling street-team deadlines, ARCs, multiple book clubs, reading with my kids, full-time retail work, and nine-hour shifts as we start preparing for the holiday season. By the time I get home, make dinner, help with homework, get the kids settled, and finally have thirty minutes to myself, sometimes I’d rather just go to sleep—and that’s okay.

I’m also trying to create more time for myself outside of work and home. That might mean sacrificing some reading time to hang out with friends and have a life beyond all the things I’m responsible for. Finding that balance isn’t always easy, especially when I love reading, writing, talking about books, and doing Cyn’s Workshop. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day for everything I want to do.

And then there’s the writing.

I’ve finished my quartet, spent time editing, formatting, and designing those books, and now one song somehow inspired another story. That song became a playlist, the playlist took over my life, and now all I want to do is sit in a room, put my music on, and write my next book.

So I’m giving myself some grace this month.

There may be 18 books on the TBR, but if I finish 10, I’m calling September a success.

Wish me luck.

I’m definitely going to need it. 😂📚✨
