“After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind.” —IMDB

Wow. The Planet of the Apes franchise that Matt Reeves and team have given birth too is one so remarkable not only because it gives insight into the past but because it is systematically setting up the world fans know all about. But there is also a progression to the story line, a way it moves forward from the first film and develops those aspects from the first film. The series itself has led up to this amazing moment where it builds the characters, where it builds the story to this moment. There was no other way for the story to go, no other direction that would have felt so emotional and so grounded in reality as this franchise. It’s an amazing film that has the audience rooting against the humans and rooting for the apes.

The Force is Strong with This One | Review of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awaken’

By Cynthia Ayala

Star Wars: The Force Awakens starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega & Adam Driver Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

It’s been thirty years since the fall of the Empire. Now the Galaxy faces a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren and the First Order. But Skywalker is missing and the allies of the Resistance, led by General Leia Organa, are beginning to flounder. And when a defector Stormtrooper named Finn crash-lands on a desert planet, he meets Rey and her droid that contains a map to find Skywalker. A new hope lies with them, their ability to survive and fight against all the odds and the location of Luke Skywalker, the last of the Jedi Knights.

Probably not a very clever title but one that suits this review, this is, after all, the first Star Wars film since Episode III: Revenge of the Sith that came out way back in 2005. Wow, I suddenly feel old.

James Franco Says He May Not Be Back For Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes

By: Eric Eisenberg A big part of the reason why Rise of the Planet of the Apes was so successful as a piece of storytelling was that it really knew where to focus the story’s attention: directly on Caesar (the intelligent chimp played by Andy Serkis). While James Franco‘s Will Rodman was certainly an important part of the narrative and put on a great performance … Continue reading James Franco Says He May Not Be Back For Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
