“In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X somewhere on the Mexican border. However, Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are upended when a young mutant arrives, pursued by dark forces.”

There’s simply no limit to the beauty this film has wrapped in all the swearing and gritty glory that defines Wolverine’s character and this film. Wolverine has not had an easy life, he has gone through so much and the writers knew just how to capitalize on the character, the Wolverine, and evolve the story for him. They took a risk, and they ended the story properly, they ended it in such a way that they gave closure to the character and his legacy in the X-Men.

Halle Berry, James Marsden And More Wanted To Return For X-Men: Days Of Future Past

By: Eric Eisenberg

X_Men_Days_of_Future_Past_34425There are technically three separate parts of the X-Men franchise universe as established by 20th Century Fox. The first part is the original trilogy, X-Men to X-Men: The Last Stand; then there is the Wolverine movies, which have so far included X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the upcoming The Wolverine; and most recently there was X-Men: First Class. While the sequel to the final title, the in-development X-Men: Days of Future Past, promises to be just that – bringing back James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult for a new go-round as Professor X, Magneto, Mystique and Beast. But what makes that particular project truly interesting is that it will also serve to bring all the parts of the X-Men universe together.

Late last month we learned that both Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen will be playing parts in Days of Future Past, and most recently it was reported that Hugh Jackman is in talks to return as Wolverine, but it appears that director Bryan Singer isn’t just stopping there. In a feature about the developing superhero film THR has revealed that the production is also looking to get Halle Berry, James Marsden and many of the other actors who played heroic mutants in the original trilogy to reprise their roles in the new film.

According to sources close to the production it shouldn’t be too hard a sell to get the actors back either. Apparently their characters would only be shown in the “alternate dystopic future” where giant robots called Sentinels are created to destroy all mutants, and that wouldn’t require a big time commitment. Plus there’s the fact that Singer is back in the director’s chair. Said the trade’s source on the cast development, “”There is a lot of willingness to participate because of Bryan.”

X-Men: Days of Future Past will go into production early next year and is currently scheduled to be released July 18, 2014.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past Bringing Back Patrick Stewart And Ian McKellen

By: Sean O’Connell

As we learn more about the story driving the next X-Men movie, Days of Future Past, the more it became clear that actors who played versions of the big-screen’s Marvel mutants would have to factor into the sequel/prequel in some way. There were rumors that Patrick Stewart wanted to come back and play Professor Charles Xavier (a role that had been assumed by James McAvoy in the smash hit X-Men: First Class). And now that rumor – as well as some other major casting announcements – are being confirmed.

Bryan Singer, who has agreed to return to the X-Men franchise to helm Days after Matthew Vaughn walked away, took to Twitter to share that Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen would be in the planned film, reprising their roles as Prof. X and Magneto. The two played these parts in Singer’s first two X-Men movies, as well as Brett Ratner’s X-Men: The Last Stand (where Stewart’s Xavier actually died … sort of). And while they weren’t part of Vaughn’s prequel, that movie did pull in Hugh Jackman’s Logan for an amusing cameo.

On his same Twitter feed, Singer welcomed original stars McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult back for Days, so we’ll see younger versions of Magneto, Beast and Mystique in the planned story. Days follows a very popular X-Men story that involves time travel, with an older Kitty Pryde transferring her mind back to her former self to warn the present-day X-Men about the horrors of a dystopian future.

Does this mean we might see Ellen Page reprising Kitty Pryde from Last Stand? It’s possible. Either way, it sounds like Singer’s mounting a proper adaptation of this infamous X-Men storyline. What do you think about the return of Stewart and McKellen to the X-Men universe?
