capcom-announce-ex-troopers-for-ps3-nintendo-3dsCapcom Japan has announced a new game called Ex Troopers for the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS, which will be a spin-off from the Lost Planet franchise.

The game will be developed under the watchful eye of Shintaro Kojima, who is responsible for the hugely successful Monster Hunter franchise, so Capcom are clearly giving this game some solid backing internally.

Ex Troopers has been described as a shooting game, but it will have an anime visual style, with a school-themed story. Some elements of the gameplay are said to be similar to the PlayStation Vita title Gravity Rush.

No justification was offered for the platforms, with clear omissions being the Xbox 360 and PlayStation Vita. It could be that Capcom are playing safe with their wallets and are just developing for the consoles which have the biggest exposure in Japan.
