So Disney Has Become Palpatine, Good to Know

Disney has always had delusions of grandeur, yup, we all knew that but it’s gone beyond Han Solo’s charming egotism and turned into Palpatine insanity. I think it’s fair to say that Disney, or as I like to call it, the Mouse Corporation, has officially gone over to the dark side and wants to make everything one with the Empire. The Sith will rule entertainment. I mean *cough* Disney will monopolize the entertainment world. Okay yeah, there is no good way to say this. Sorry folks.

Anyway, enough of my silliness and lets get down to business because lets be serious here, it always comes down to business, aka money. Now, as scared as I am, because I am, I honestly am slightly relieved. Over the years George Lucas can continued to “improve” Star Wars and the result has always been disastrous. Episodes 1, 2 and 3 are examples of that. And when I think about it, Disney gave me Captain America and the Avengers, they gave Marvel movies credit where comic sales have been dismal and a HUGE part of me is so glad that this will finally be taken away from George Lucas’s hands, but still, at the end of the day I have to ask, will it be true to the original trilogy or the prequel. If anything they can turn to the novels because those are immensely true to the original trilogy. So one can hope. Just for the love of god Disney, do not try to make this family friendly because it’s not.

I feel like I may have gone off on a tangent for forgive me, just I have a lot of feelings about this. Disney has bought Lucasfilm for $4.06 billion and where as I have no problem whatsoever with Star Wars becoming even more commercialized (because lets face it, it’s always been commercialized) I have issues with where Disney is going to take Star Wars. Lets face it, you cannot replace the original cast, that would be blasphemy so one would have to take it into the future, definitely not further into the past. That cannot happen.

Overall Disney has made a lot a lot of money and they are only going to make more and I’m so very thankful that the initial plot line for Episodes 7, 8 & 9 were already drawn up before this. What I do have a problem with is the risk that it may lose it’s charm provided that Alan Horn, the guy in semi-charge of Disney. Overall, I have conflicted feelings about this. Am I for this 100%, god no. Let’s say I’m 50/50. What’s your opinion?

Oh, and one more thing, does this mean Lightsabers in next Kingdom Hearts game. As ridiculous as that kind of sounds, I really want to play that. Don’t judge.
