Daniel Radcliffe Grows A Pair In First Look At Horns

By:  Eric EIsenberg

In Alexandre Aja‘s Horns, based on the novel by Joe Hill, Daniel Radcliffe will be working with a much different kind of magic than what we saw him use in the Harry Potter series. In the movie he stars as a young man named Ignatius “Ig” Perrish who wakes up one morning to discover that a pair of devilish horns has sprouted from his head and that’s he’s wanted for the brutal rape and murder of his girlfriend. He then sets out on a quest to find who is really responsible and discovers that he has the ability to make people tell the truth or give into their deepest urges. We’ve been wondering for a while what Radcliffe’s look would be like, as he would obviously be ditching the lightning bolt scar and round-frame glasses, and now we have our first image.

EW has gotten their hands on the still and while I really like the look, I can’t help but think that he looks like some kind of evil mutant from the 80s era X-Men. It’s a good look for Radcliffe and we look forward to seeing how it functions on the big screen. Scope out the image below and see it full size over at EW.

In addition to getting the still, the website also had a chance to sit down and talk with the star about the role after his first time in the makeup chair. Of the film Radcliffe said it’s “deeply emotional and also incredibly outrageous in some ways. To play somebody who, in the midst of a time in his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character — it was very, very exciting.”

Mandalay Pictures and Red Granite Pictures are producing the film, which doesn’t yet have a release date.
