There are books where I dislike the main character and it completely ruins the experience.
Then there are books where I spend half my time wanting to reach into the pages and shake some sense into the main character, but I’m still invested in everything happening around them.
The Poisons We Drink by Bethany Baptiste falls firmly into that second category for me.
