You know me. I’m absolutely someone who judges a book by its cover.

So The Verdant Cage by Jess Lourey is absolutely a book I could have seen myself picking up based on the cover alone. Thankfully, the publisher was gracious enough to send me a copy—and what really surprised me was how much I ended up enjoying what was inside.

Because this book caught me completely off guard.
