After Alice is the newest novel by bestselling author Gregory Maguire. Published on October 27, 2015 by William Morrow, this new tale is a retelling of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland.

Gregory Maguire is known for his retellings within the narrative world and for this novel he has tapped into the writing style of Lewis Carroll. For anyone who has ever read the original tale of Alice in Wonderland will see the resemblance in writing styles and how Maguire was able to tap into his technique of writing and tell this tale of Alice’s friend Ada who is briefly mentioned in the original. Weekly Reading List #24

Hey there avid readers. It’s been a tiring week. I mean just exhausting. Not even physically exhausting because I had a day off and I’ve been procrastinating finishing this paper so that I can pull another one out of my tushie by Friday of next week. I’m just so tired, I haven’t slept straight through the night in a week and I’ve been getting these awful headaches that are so inhibiting. Ugh, these two papers are not my finest work but I’m just gonna have to make it work.

So that’s what’s been going on in my life. I hope everyone is getting a long better than moi. I really miss my cat, Mr. J, and my fiancé. God, I miss sleeping in and reading, and writing. Weekly Reading List #23

Hey there avid readers! I hope that everyone had an amazing Halloween. I sure did. I was Beetlejuice and it was awesome. Unfortunately my shoes, however cute, were not made for walking. It was still a lot of fun and I loved it, even found out I got an A on the paper that I was so sure that I was going to fail. Whew.

Sorry, you’re not here for that. Or maybe some of you are. I like you readers to get to know me as a person. I hope none of this inconsequential to you guys.
