An update on the various Final Fantasy series titles in development

By: Erren Van Duine Square Enix has provided a brief glimpse at the progress on several of their in-development Final Fantasy titles in this week’s Famitsu. While nothing new has come out of the magazine in terms of tangible information, we now know that Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD Remaster are nearing 80% and 65% completion respectively. Lightning Returns has also made a bit of progress and now sits at 70% complete with its release date still currently scheduled for Fall []

Good News, Final Fantasy X HD Still Happening

By: Spencer Pressly (@torchwood4sp) If you are like many others out there and are worried about the development of FINAL FANTASY X HD, you are not alone. Not only did Square Enix not show ANYTHING about the game at this years Tokyo Game Show, but announced another HD collection with a release date. Jeremy Parish from 1UP noted that at TGS he spoke with an unnamed Square Enix employee. He was told that the HD remaster “is still in the works.” While []

The English version of Final Fantasy Type-0 remains in limbo

By: Erren Van Duine Final Fantasy Type-0 still isn’t coming to the west anytime soon. That harsh reality was reenforced at Tokyo Game Show, where several sources in and outside of Square Enix confirmed the continued non-existence of the game’s localization. According to 1UP’s Jeremy Parish, “no less than four people I talked to at TGS made it very clear that the English version of Type-0 is moribund, at least in its current form.” All of this despite various reports that have []

Topics will be fairly simple – meant more to gauge what the community at large feels and how they’ve reacted over certain things. The first one deals with an announcement not too far away from now. Perhaps the worst kept secret looming at the back of the minds of Final Fantasy fans is the continuation []

Toriyama: The day when the meaning of Final Fantasy XIII-2′s DLC ending will come to light is not too far off

By: Erren Van Duine If obvious hints in the Ultimania Omega weren’t enough, Toriyama has some more to say on the subject of a XIII story continuation. Famitsu.com caught up with Toriyama at the recent Game Developers Conference in Taipei. Of course, considering his presentation focused on XIII, the site was keen to ask him if anything Final Fantasy XIII related would show up at the upcoming 25th Anniversary event in August. “The [FFXIII-2] Lightning download content had an ending that left []
