Following a mix-up, the Square Enix online store accidentally posted up a release date for the French version of Kingdom Heats 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
Before it was changed by Square Enix to read “Summer 2012”, the release date was listed as the 27th of July. Summer 2012 of course translates to the July-August period, so the 27th of July could have been Square Enix’s intended release date. This could change now though, should Square Enix want to optimise their planning.
Fans have long been waiting for this installment into the franchise, as it looks to expand the lore of Kingdom Hearts even further and hopefully, will lead-up to the next big game. Many believe this could be Kingdom Hearts 3.
It will feature both Sora and Riku as playable characters and Tetsuya Nomura, the game’s director, is also looking to make good use of the 3D technology available on the Nintendo 3DS.
We’ll keep you posted on any future release news for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, but for now, expect it to release Summer 2012 in Europe and North America.
