Ridley Scott is, without question, one of the greatest luminaries of science fiction. Two of his earliest films, Alien and Blade Runner, helped define what the genre meant and showed us all what it can do. They have aged perfectly and are constantly looked back on for reference on how to do it right. But we’ve been without science-fiction from Scott since 1982 and while he’s made some great titles in that time, such as Gladiator, American Gangster and Thelma & Louise, he has still been sorely missed. That drought officially ends this summer when Prometheusm a prequel to Alien, arrives in theaters. And now you can hear the director talk his return in a brand new featurette.
In addition to showing interviews with the stellar cast, including Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Logan Marshall-Green and Guy Pearce, the new video also has a great deal of new footage that has not yet been seen in any of the trailers. Check out the featurette below and head over to Apple to see it in HD.
Prometheus follows a crew of scientists as they try to learn about how our world was created. Assembling clues from ancient peoples, they discover a message that gives them an invitation to learn about their past. Rocketing to another world, they begin to learn about why they were really called for and what they discover could mean the end of human existence as we know it. Idris Elba, Ben Foster, Kate Dickie, Sean Harris, Rafe Spall, Benedict Wong, and Lucy Hutchinson. co-star in the feature, which hits theaters on June 8th
