After almost 20 years of its fade to obscurity, the Neo Geo franchise is making a return this winter. Partnered with SNK Playmore, Tommo, Inc. has announced the Neo Geo X Gold entertainment system, slated for a global release December 6, 2012 at a suggested retail price of $199.99.
The Neo Geo X Gold will come complete with the Neo Geo X Station, the Neo Geo X Joystick, and the Neo Geo X Handheld – sporting a 4.3” LCD display, expandable game card slot, internal stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and compatible with the joystick and console for visual transfer to HDMI and A/V display monitors and televisions.
The Neo Geo X Handheld will also come with 20 pre-loaded Neo Geo classics including:
