Okay, this is new to me.  I just saw The Expendables with the two original Universal Soldiers, Jean-Claude Van Damme & Dolph Lundgren.  Remember, in the original 1992 Universal Soldier, Lundgren was evil, a sociopath, Van Damme was good, the only one who could take him down.  But now it looks as though they are on the same side this time.  This time around, Van Damme’s Luc Deveraus is evil, and brutal.  In fact it has been said that “Van Damme’s Luc Deveraux is channeling Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now, complete with a shaved head”.  Also, joining the movie is Scott Adkins who stared alongside these two in The Expendables (if you haven’t seen it go, it’s awesome) & former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski.  The movie will be in 3D, but to quote Brent McKnight of Giant Freakin Robot “I don’t really care for that part, the action in this trailer looks strong.”

The plot synopsis is that Luc Deveraux (Van Damme) and Andrew Scott (Lundgren) set out to establish a new world order, one ruled by rogue Unisols.  They made a big mistake though by messing with Unisol John’s (Adkins) family and life.  Considering the moves and skill these men have, I think all we action fans are in for a treat.  Lets just hope that this movie will not be a disappointment like the previous ones were.

Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning will see a theatrical release on November 30th.
