Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Sony announced that Wonderbook: Book of Spells will launch in the United States on November 13. The game will be released in two versions, the first of which is a $40 stand-alone iteration that includes the game and a Wonderbook peripheral.
The second bundle is the Wonderbook: Book of Spells Move pack (at right), which includes the game, a Wonderbook peripheral, a PlayStation Eye camera, and a PlayStation Move motion controller for $80.
Book of Spells is the first project to use Sony’s new Wonderbook platform, and taps into the Harry Potter universe created by J.K. Rowling. In the game, players will learn how to cast a range of spells, including Incendio, Wingardium Leviosa, and Expelliarmus, using the PlayStation Move controller as a wand.
In addition to Book of Spells, Sony has a number of projects in the pipeline for Wonderbook. These include Diggs: Nightcrawler–a detective noir game from Oscar-winning studio Moonbot–as well as BBC’s Walking with Dinosaurs, and a mystery project with Disney Interactive Studios.
