Review of ‘Marcus’ Misadventures’

Marcus’ Misadventures is a quirky, quick read about a man, his cat, and his penchant for spell craft and magic through puns.

Marcus’ Misadventures is a fun and quirky read where one man becomes a mage and uses magic with…unprecedented results.

Storytelling

Moore’s storytelling is quick and to the point but only adds to the novel’s enjoyment. Marcus and his girlfriend work in different sectors of their company. His girlfriend is a brilliant, pretty, and athletic scientist, while Marcus’ works in the archives depart all by his lonesome.

It is there that he discovers a text with some chemistry in it. His curiosity gets the better of him, and he takes the book home with his girlfriend and does an experiment, and poof! They all get knocked out, and suddenly, people call Marcus Magus. He can do magic around puns, his cat can transform, and his girlfriend turns into Wonder Woman.

I love the puns, each and every one of them. And they make the story fun and engaging. I loved how the characters had a relationship and how Moore was able to give a voice to his cat as well. These characters lip up the pages.

Final Thoughts

Marcus’ Misadventures is a quick read full of fun puns and action.

Rating: 3 out of 5.
