There has been a lot of conversation surrounding Sibylline by Melissa de la Cruz, so naturally, I had to read it for myself.

As someone who loves YA and works closely with the YA section at my bookstore, I was especially curious about this one. I’ve also been reading Melissa de la Cruz for years—I absolutely loved her Blue Bloods series—so when the publisher sent me an ARC, I wanted to see what Sibylline actually had to offer beyond everything being said about it online.

And you know what?

This book reminded me why I like Melissa de la Cruz.

Sibylline follows Raven, Atticus, and Dorian, three friends who have dreamed of attending an elite magical university. When they’re rejected, they decide they’re going to get an education anyway, taking jobs on campus while secretly attending lectures and accessing forbidden magical texts. As their own magic awakens, so do some very complicated feelings for one another—and an increasingly dangerous mystery lurking within Sibylline itself.
