Today I’m reviewing Sibylline by Melissa de la Cruz—a fantasy steeped in prophecy, mystery, and the dangerous weight of knowing too much. This story leans into themes of fate, power, and the consequences of seeing what others cannot, creating an atmosphere filled with tension and uncertainty.
But there’s another reason I was especially interested in reading this one.
There has been a lot of conversation surrounding Sibylline, particularly regarding its mature content and classification as young adult. As someone who loves YA, works closely with YA books at my bookstore, and has been reading Melissa de la Cruz since Blue Bloods, I wanted to read the book for myself before forming an opinion.
And Sibylline reminded me exactly why I enjoy Melissa de la Cruz’s storytelling.
