“In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X somewhere on the Mexican border. However, Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are upended when a young mutant arrives, pursued by dark forces.”

There’s simply no limit to the beauty this film has wrapped in all the swearing and gritty glory that defines Wolverine’s character and this film. Wolverine has not had an easy life, he has gone through so much and the writers knew just how to capitalize on the character, the Wolverine, and evolve the story for him. They took a risk, and they ended the story properly, they ended it in such a way that they gave closure to the character and his legacy in the X-Men.

Taking place after the debacle that was X-Men: The Last Stand (a movie I would prefer hadn’t happened). Wolverine is suffering through the anguish he feels or killing Jean-Grey, the woman he loved, in The Last Stand. Now, living in a self-imposed exile he lives … Continue reading The Wolverine | Movie Review

Wolverine Set Photos Introduce Logan And His Key Ladies

By:  Sean O’Connell The first trailer for James Mangold’s The Wolverine is expected to drop in theaters at the end of the month, possibly attached to G.I. Joe: Retributionsince 20th Century Fox doesn’t have a movie in theaters after The Croodsand the animated comedy doesn’t seem like the right fit for a clip about a berserker rage machine with razor-sharp claws that just out of his fists. While killing time waiting for the trailer to land, Mangold has stayed busy on his Twitter feed, sharing these three black-and-white still photos he took of “three people I adore.” That top shot is self-explanatory, but he shared two … Continue reading Wolverine Set Photos Introduce Logan And His Key Ladies

The Wolverine’s First Trailer Won’t Arrive Until Late March

By:  Eric Eisenberg It would have made a lot of sense for 20th Century Fox to attach the first trailer for James Mangold‘s The Wolverine to this weekend’s A Good Day To Die Hard. Not only is the same studio releasing both movies, they are also both being aimed at the same demographic and the timeline fits perfectly (with the superhero flick due in theaters on July 26th). And yet it looks as though we won’t be getting our first look at The Wolverine for more than a month. Earlier today rumors sprouted that we would be getting a first-look trailer at the new comic book … Continue reading The Wolverine’s First Trailer Won’t Arrive Until Late March

Hugh Jackman Suits Up In New Image From The Wolverine

By:  Eric Eisenberg In Bryan Singer‘s 2000 film X-Men it was established that Wolverine wasn’t a big fan of the leather jump suit the team had him wear, but that doesn’t fully explain a certain pattern that has developed in the marketing for James Mangold‘s upcoming superhero film The Wolverine. Thus far there have been three official stills and one photo-based poster for the movie (the teaser poster was illustrated) and all of them have featured the titular character not wearing a shirt. As we haven’t seen a trailer yet, until now there was no reason to believe that Hugh Jackman wasn’t doing the … Continue reading Hugh Jackman Suits Up In New Image From The Wolverine

Something Off About Wolverine Claws Image

By: Katey Rich There’s a lot of interesting news floating out there right now about The Wolverine, which is really exactly what the movie needs right now. It’s technically a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a spinoff that virtually nobody liked despite the presence of the always-great Hugh Jackman. When Darren Aronofsky left the project to work on Noah, it seemed like a stake in the heart of a sequel nobody really wanted, especially with the great X-Men: First Class seeming to put a much fresher spin on this particularly comic universe. But The Wolverine director James Mangold got out … Continue reading Something Off About Wolverine Claws Image

Hugh Jackman Glowers And Flexes In First Official The Wolverine Photo

By: Kristy Puchko Even though X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a solid hit for Fox, pulling in more than $373 million worldwide, follow up The Wolverine stumbled its way into production. Darren Aronofsky dropped the film and left Fox scrambling for a replacement; after names like Doug Liman, Justin Lin, Duncan Jones and Mark Romanek were bandied about, the job ultimately went to Knight and Day director James Mangold. In short, the development of the film has been a rollercoaster ride of thrilling possibilities and soul-crushing disappointments for fans of the franchise. But now with a first official photo of Hugh … Continue reading Hugh Jackman Glowers And Flexes In First Official The Wolverine Photo

The Wolverine Gets An Official Plot Synopsis

By: Eric Eisenberg Earlier this week we learned that The Wolverine, the latest film about the superhero played by Hugh Jackman, would be more of a standalone film and separate from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but we still didn’t have a clear idea of exactly what the plot would entail. Today we have a much better idea. Its been long rumored that the film would be based on the famous arc by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, a new official plot synopsis, which was posted over on HitFix, confirms it. Here it is: Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The … Continue reading The Wolverine Gets An Official Plot Synopsis

The Wolverine To Film In Hugh Jackman’s Home Town

Since The Wolverine first started to get going, one of the biggest problems has been the country of Japan. While the original plan was to be finished with production in 2011 to potentially get ready for a 2012 release, the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel found itself in trouble when the Asian nation was rocked by a tsunami. Since then, the production has been searching for a location to shoot in that could double for Japan. In August of last year there were reports that project would set up shop in Vancouver, Canada, but now it looks like that won’t be … Continue reading The Wolverine To Film In Hugh Jackman’s Home Town

The Next Wolverine Started Shooting In October (How did I not know this??)

Things finally came together for the next Wolverine movie. They have a director in James Mangold, Hugh Jackman is ready to go, and now the film has a start date.  The Wolverine to began shooting in October, which probably means Fox aims to have it in theaters for 2012. For a Fox movie that’s actually a pretty long production cycle, which suggests that they’re taking their time with this one and, hopefully, really trying to get it right this time. The last installment, X-Men Origins: Wolverine suffered from being rushed, among other problems. The news of the film’s start date … Continue reading The Next Wolverine Started Shooting In October (How did I not know this??)
