Weekly Reading List #13

By: Cynthia Ayala

Hey there readers! I know that I missed last week but I was at the Florida Supercon so I didn’t get a whole lot of reading done. But this week, man, I read two whole books! Cinder and Survive the Night were so good. Especially Survive the Night. Danielle Vega really knows how to suck a reader in and with that novel, she simply captivated me. I’m very picky with giving books five stars, but that novel certainly earned it; I couldn’t put it down.

Anyway, here’s what’s coming up on my weekly reading list and, as always, all synopsis are courtesy of Goodreads. Happy reading folks.

Yellow Ducks – A Short Story

By: Cynthia Ayala

So this was the last short story I wrote before I took my Leave of Absence at Emerson College.  I think this one is one of my more favorite short stories that I wrote.  It started as a writing exercise and then I decided I wanted to expand the idea.  My first draft was okay and this is my third draft that I kind of wish I had handed in as my Final.  I still got a B+ but I believe this is an improved version of the story. MONSTER OF NIGHT – A SHORT STORY

By: Cynthia Ayala

During my freshman year at college I was asked to write a short story for my Creative Writing class. This was the final draft. Not the one I initially presented in the class but one that has been edited – I hope – and one I really enjoyed writing because I love subtly in writing and this is the story I experimented that with.
