Since his departure from Grey’s Anatomy a few years back , T.R. Knight hasn’t appeared in much. In fact, with the exception of an episode of Law & Order: SVU, he’s reserved his acting talents for the stage since leaving the ABC drama series. But it looks like we’ll be seeing the actor on the big screen soon enough, as he’s been signed on for a role in Legendary Pictures’ Jackie Robinson biopic 42.

Directed by Brian Helgeland, 42 stars Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson, the first black baseball player in Major League Baseball. Harrison Ford is set to play Branch Rickey, the general manager of the Dodgers who signed Robinson.According to the Hollywood Reporter, Knight has joined the film to play the part of Harold Parrott, “the Dodgers traveling secretary who has to deal with the repercussions of housing once Robinson joins the team.”

Anyone who remembers Knight as George O’Malley in Grey’s Anatomy can likely picture him as a guy in an uncomfortable or stressed situation. As the Reporter points out, this is Knight’s first feature role since his departure from Grey’s. As someone who hoped to see more appearances by the actor after he exited the ABC drama, I’m hoping this is just the start of his return to the spotlight.
