Since playing the role of the villainous vampire Victoria in the first two Twilight films, Rachelle Lefevre has appeared in a number of feature films in addition to a couple of short-lived TV dramas. It looks as though she has her sights set on the big screen once again as she’s been cast in two projects, one of which will have her playing Channing Tatum’s ex-wife.
THR has reported that Lefevre has been cast in Sony’s White House Down as well as Millennium Film’s Homefront. Currently filming in Montreal, Roland Emmerich’s White House Down stars Tatum as a secret service agent who’s tasked to save the White House when it’s taken over by a paramilitary group. Back in July, we learned that The Dark Knight Rises‘ Joey King had been cast to play Tatum’s daughter in the film. Lefevre will play Tatum’s ex-wife, so it may be safe to assume she’s the mother of King’s character. As King is among the White House hostages, that would certainly explain how Tatum’s ex-wife factors into the story.
Homefront is set to be directed by Gary Fleder and stars Jason Statham as an ex-DEA agent who goes up against a local drug lord (played by James Franco) in a small town. Lefevre will be playing school psychologist “who tries to warn the family about the dangers of living there.”
Lefevre played Victoria in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, after which she was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard for Eclipse. Since New Moon, she went on to play doctors in the ABC drama Off the Map and CBS’A Gifted Man.
