a_walk_among_the_tombstones_35742English actress Ruth Wilson has managed to spend some time with some seriously great co-stars recently due to the parts she has landed. Later this summer she will be appearing alongside the likes of Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer in Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger, and then in the award season months she’ll be featured alongside Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti and more in Saving Mr. Banks. And today we’ve learned that he next big co-star will be Liam Neeson, as she has just landed a lead role in the upcoming Scott Frank film A Walk Among The Tombstones.

The casting news comes from Variety, which says that the plot follows a former NYPD officer (Neeson) who tries to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer while working as a private detective and discovers a string of similar crimes, all of which have ended with death. While the trade describes Wilson’s part as the “female lead” it fails to specify how she will fit into the plot. Downton Abbey‘s Dan Stevens is also attached to the project which is based on the book of the same name by Lawrence Block.

The film will be Frank’s first directing effort since his 2007 debut, when he helmed the underrated Joseph Gordon-Levitt thriller The Lookout. He’s best known for his career as a writer, scripting Elmore Leonard adaptations Out of Sight and Get Shorty as well as Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi hit Minority Report.

Wilson most recently played Princess Betsy Tverskoy in Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina.
