More ‘Frozen’ characters to join ‘Once Upon a Time’

In the season finale of Once Upon a Time, fans were spellbound by the appearance of Queen Elsa, the Snow Queen. And it was a confirmation that her character would be the “villain” in the fourth season of Once Upon a Time. But now, it has been revealed that more characters from the animated movie ‘Frozen’ will be joining the cast. Princess Anna and the fearless Kristoff will be joining the fourth season of Once Upon a Time.

In an interview with E!, show creator Adam Horowitz addressed the question of how he was going to go about recreating these characters in a live-action show:

“We’re not going to redo the movie, because we just don’t feel like it’s in anyone’s interest for us to redo it. But what we are going to do, we’re not ready to tell you. But what we can say is we’re very aware of what we think makes this character from ‘Frozen’ so special and we want to honor that and make sure that what we do is in the universe of (what) everyone fell in love with this past year.”

The creators of the show have stated that as Elsa will be the main guest on the show, she will continue to struggle with her ability to freeze things, which will prove to be a problem with the danger that it poses, leaving Anna and Kristoff with lesser roles and less airtime. However, bits of their relationship have been revealed. It’s been reported that the pair are married and moving in together, creating the struggle for Kristoff to live a more “normal” life. As for Anna, little has been revealed about the spunky charismatic character; all that’s been stated is that she will be learning to juggle her time between her new husband and her sister.

No official casting decisions have been made, but names have been circulating, raising the hopes. The Epoch Times stated Elizabeth Mitchell and Maggie Grace are both forerunners for the part of Queen Else. Like Emilie de Ravin, who now plays Belle on Once Upon a Time, they were characters on the hit show ‘Lost’. Mitchell played Juliet, who appeared in the 3rd season, while Maggie Grace was in the original group, taking on the character Shannon.

However, those aren’t the only names circulating. Fans have expressed the desire of placing Hilary Duff or Blake Lively as the character. Others hope that Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell will reprise their roles.

The co-creators are taking their time with the casting, having no other desire than to pick the perfect actor to portray the beloved character. As a fan of ‘Frozen’, they better get it right.
