Greetings readers. Can you imagine my excitement when I opened up my feed to discover that Suzanne Collins, author of the bestselling Hunger Games series, has announced that she will be writing a prequel?
I was very excited and had to share the news.
Accordingly to various sources, the novel is said to take place 64 years before the first Hunger Games novel. The currently untitled prequel is set to chronicle the events surrounding the 10th Hunger Games. Collins has said with this book she, “wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival…The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days — as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet — provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”
The Untitled novel is said to be released May 19, 2020.
